5th Grade Review (March 30-April 3rd)

Lab Part 1:  The Earth's Interacting Spheres

This week we will learn more about the Earth's spheres.  Remember these key concepts:

  • The earth has 4 major spheres.
  • The spheres are the geosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere.
  • The spheres interact to effect Earth’s systems and processes.

This week we will use a new awesome site called Generations Genius.  Click here to watch video

After the video, try the Kahoot quiz or the paper quiz to test your knowledge.

Hands on:  Sketch and label the 4 main spheres.  I'd love to see your sketches, feel free to e-mail to:

Lab Part 2:  Animal Adaptations

Throughout this year, we have learned how all living things have adaptations.  Adaptations are special features or ways of acting to help living things survive in their environment.

Watch this Mystery Science Video about animal adaptations:  Click Here
*Don't forget to watch until the end to check out all the cool examples.

Hands on:  Can you design your own animal?  What features would this animal have? What would you call it?  Where would it live?  Sketch and label OR build with household materials.  I'd love to see your ideas.  Feel free to share with me: klawrence@srvusd.net
